Nature is important to us. Katarina Jankova’s tourism studies at the University of Economics and Business and her many years of experience in developing and managing sustainability processes led to the founding of JANKOVA Consulting.
The services, with a focus on biophilic interior design, were later expanded to include sustainability consulting and certifications as the business expanded and her qualifications improved.

It’s important not only to comply with legal requirements such as ESG reporting, but also to meet the expectations of environmentally conscious guests and travelers. According to Booking.com’s 2022 Sustainable Travel Report, 81% of travelers consider sustainable travel a priority to preserve natural resources and give back to local communities.
The United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) defines sustainable tourism as “a sector that comprehensively considers its current and future economic, social, and environmental impacts, always keeping in mind the needs of visitors, the industry, the environment, and host communities. Sustainability principles encompass not only ecological but also economic and socio-cultural aspects.”
